Yoga

Tuesdays: 9:00 AM
Thursdays: 6:00 PM

Yoga is profoundly more than stretching and acrobatics.

The physical realm that most people associate yoga with is more of a gateway into into far more interesting dynamic states of mind that very much affect our physical reality.

The surge of popularity of Yoga in the last forty or so years has focused primarily on the physical body that most people identify as their true self. In reality, when we learn, through the ancient teachings of Bharat (the name of pre-colonized India), how to connect with our true self (atma) that energy allows us to live a radiant and purposeful life.

Recently, sound baths have become popular. This is a nod to the power of sound vibration (Naad Yoga). Amazingly, almost every human being has the capacity to create sound through their voice. This reveals the power of ‘Mantra’ (reciting Sanskrit verses) and ‘jnana’ (knowledge).

The teachings of Yoga are embedded in the living and ancient language of Sanskrit. As a language, Sanskrit has been compared to mathematics. Because of its many clear and precise grammatical rules it remains the same over time. There is no linguistic drift.

These Yoga classes will combine seated meditation, physical movement, Mantra and so much more.

I look forward to sharing with you this wise and profound tradition that continues to be passed forward through time.
